My name is Mike. I am currently a solo pastor in a small town outside of Omaha, Nebraska and have been for the past three years. In addition to my pastoral duties, I lead worship in my congregation frequently on Sunday mornings. Preaching is my vocation, but music is my passion. I have been a worship leader on and off for almost 9 years.
I hold not only a Master of Divinity, but also an Bachelor of Science in Music Education. During my undergraduate days I did advanced studies in both vocal anatomy and pedagogy. That's a fancy way of saying that I studied the parts of the voice and how they work...as well as how they don't work. I did research concerning how the vocal folds react to different things such as licit and illicit drugs, illness, allergies, and more.
Perhaps the most credible part of my story is that since high school I have had various vocal issues and have a history of figuring out what makes my voice work and what to do when things aren't right. Because of my background and the number of stories that I hear of preachers and vocal issues, I decided to begin this blog in order to use the training and experiences that God has led me through in order to help preachers use their voices the way that God created them to.
