Why Does This Blog Matter?

How are they to hear without someone preaching?
Romans 10:14

God, in His infinite wisdom, has seen fit to have His great gospel heralded through the human voice.  While this is a great and glorious truth, the very vehicle by which God has ordained that His gospel be proclaimed, also falls victim to the fall of creation.  The voice is a strong and beautiful instrument but it also is very fragile and weak.  When preachers or worship leaders enter into the position of leading God's people to worship Him, Satan loves it if they can be distracted or disabled by the disfunction of our voices.  Whether it be because of misuse, poor maintenance, or illness, I want to help preachers and worship leaders think more carefully about vocal health so that they can proclaim the excellencies of God confidently and unhindered.

I am not a medical doctor, a speech-language pathologist, or a voice therapist (see disclaimer here).  I am a fellow preacher and worship leader who has a background in vocal studies and experience in vocal faults (see About the Author for more info).

This site is for preachers and worship leaders.  Its purpose to help you become more functional in taking care of your voice.  As a pastor, I am here for you.  Feel free to contact with me questions or situations that you might be facing.  I may tell you to go to an ENT.  I may suggest you lay off the coffee, or buy some Flonase.  But only take my advice with a grain of salt, it should never replace what a doctor would tell you.
